4 Camera Kits: complete systems for a typical home or small shop
A 4 camera kit covers the common corners of most homes or small premises: front, back, side and one internal or entry view. This range includes both DVR kits (cameras connect by coaxial cable) and NVR kits (cameras connect by network cable, often with PoE — power and data on one lead).
Camera resolutions in this range run from 2MP up to 5MP, and hard drives from 4TB to 6TB, pre-matched to the recorder in each kit.
How to choose
- Recorder type: DVR kits pair with analogue-style HD cameras over coax; NVR kits use PoE cameras over network cable, which usually simplifies cabling to one run per camera.
- Channel count: recorders in this range go up to 16-channel, so a 4 camera kit can often be expanded later within the same box.
- Camera resolution: 2MP is standard-definition CCTV; 5MP gives sharper detail for number plates or faces at distance.
- Storage: kits ship with 4TB, 5TB or 6TB drives — larger drives generally hold more recorded history before older footage is overwritten.
- Lens type: some cameras are fixed-lens, others (like varifocal 2.8-12mm models) let you narrow or widen the field of view during setup.

4 Camera Kits — frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a DVR kit and an NVR kit?
DVR kits use coaxial-cable cameras, while NVR kits use network-cable cameras, often with PoE so one cable carries both power and video data.
Will a 4 camera kit let me add more cameras later?
Some recorders in this range have more channels than cameras supplied, such as 8-channel or 16-channel boxes sold with 4 cameras, so extra cameras could be added within that channel limit.
