26 Camera Kits: your questions answered
How many days of footage do kits in this range keep?
It comes down to three things: the size of the drive, how many cameras are recording and their resolution. As a rough guide, if 26 cameras are recording non-stop, every terabyte gives you around 1 day of 5MP footage or around 1 day of 4K footage. On a typical kit here, it's about 42 days. Each kit's card shows its own estimate — and if you only record when something moves, footage lasts longer.
Channels and cameras — what's the difference?
Think of channels as how many cameras the recorder will take, and cameras as the number you actually get. Every recorder here can take at least 6 extra cameras. With spare channels, you can add cameras later and keep the same recorder.
What's in the box?
A recorder (an NVR on IP kits or a DVR on Turbo HD ones) plus matching cameras, checked to work together. Every kit here comes with a hard drive. Every part, with its model number, is listed on each kit's own page.
How much do kits in this range cost?
Prices for the in-stock kits here go from £3,053.20 to £6,450.34 including VAT. The figure on each card is what that kit costs.
26 camera kits: full-perimeter CCTV for larger sites
A 26 camera kit gives a single site enough cameras to cover every entrance, boundary and blind spot in one go. This range holds 231 kits, all built around a 32-channel recorder, meaning one recorder handles all your cameras — not several units chained together.
Camera counts and resolutions vary by kit: some pair 5MP turret cameras with a single 4K turret, others mix 2MP PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom, for actively steering the view) cameras with 4K turrets, and some run 4K turrets throughout. Recording storage is supplied as multiple drives working together inside that one recorder — for example 4× 8TB or 3× 16TB — giving a large combined capacity for continuous multi-camera recording.
How to choose
- Camera mix: decide how many high-resolution (4K/5MP) cameras you need at key points versus standard cameras elsewhere.
- PTZ vs fixed: PTZ cameras let you steer the view remotely; fixed turret cameras cover one spot continuously.
- Total storage: check the combined drive capacity (e.g. 3× 16TB) against how long you need footage retained.
- Recorder channels: confirm the 32-channel recorder comfortably covers your camera count with room to spare.
26 Camera Kits — frequently asked questions
Do these kits use more than one recorder?
No — each kit is built around a single 32-channel recorder, such as the IDS-7332HUHI-M4/S in some kits, which handles all the cameras together.
What does the storage figure like '4× 8TB' mean?
It means four hard drives fitted inside the one recorder, working together for a large combined recording capacity rather than separate recorders.
What's the difference between the PTZ and turret cameras included?
PTZ cameras can be steered remotely to pan, tilt and zoom, while turret cameras are fixed to continuously cover one area.
