11 Camera Kits: your questions answered
How many days of footage do kits in this range keep?
It comes down to three things: the size of the drive, how many cameras are recording and their resolution. As a rough guide, if 11 cameras are recording non-stop, every terabyte gives you around 4 days of 5MP footage or around 2 days of 4K footage. On a typical kit here, it's about 58 days. Each kit's card shows its own estimate — and if you only record when something moves, footage lasts longer.
Channels and cameras — what's the difference?
Think of channels as how many cameras the recorder will take, and cameras as the number you actually get. Every recorder here can take at least 5 extra cameras. With spare channels, you can add cameras later and keep the same recorder.
What's in the box?
A recorder (an NVR on IP kits or a DVR on Turbo HD ones) plus matching cameras, checked to work together. Every kit here comes with a hard drive. Every part, with its model number, is listed on each kit's own page.
How much do kits in this range cost?
Prices for the in-stock kits here go from £1,131.30 to £4,582.55 including VAT. The figure on each card is what that kit costs.
11 Camera Kits: full-site coverage in one box
An 11 camera kit gives you enough cameras to cover most house exteriors or small commercial sites from a single recorder. In this range every kit pairs 11 cameras with a 16-channel recorder, so there's spare capacity for extra cameras later without replacing the recorder.
Resolutions span 2MP through to 4K, and camera styles include turret, bullet and PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom, for actively tracking movement across a wide area). Recorder storage ranges from 8TB up to 18TB, pre-matched to the camera count and resolution in each kit.
How to choose
- Resolution: 2MP suits general coverage; 4MP or 4K gives clearer detail for number plates or faces, at the cost of more storage used per camera.
- Camera type: fixed turret or bullet cameras cover a set area; PTZ cameras can be moved to follow activity or cover a wider zone from one position.
- Storage headroom: higher-resolution kits in this range come with larger drives (up to 18TB) to allow for longer retention before older footage is overwritten.
- Spare channels: the 16-channel recorders here leave 5 free channels beyond the 11 supplied cameras, useful if you plan to add more later.
11 Camera Kits — frequently asked questions
Do these kits include enough recorder channels for the cameras?
Yes — each 11 camera kit in this range comes with a 16-channel recorder, so all 11 cameras are covered with 5 channels spare for future expansion.
What's the difference between PTZ and fixed cameras in these kits?
PTZ cameras can pan, tilt and zoom to actively follow movement or cover a wide area from one spot, while turret and bullet cameras stay fixed on a set view.
How much storage do I need?
It depends on resolution and how long you want to keep footage; kits here range from 8TB to 18TB, with higher-resolution kits generally paired with larger drives.
