What it does
The Hikvision DS-2CE17K0T-LXTS is a 3K HD-TVI bullet camera that adds two-way talk and an active alarm to standard analogue recording. It suits anyone who wants to see, hear and warn off visitors at a door, driveway or gate — not just capture footage after the fact.
Image and night performance
Resolution is 2960 × 1665 (3K) — noticeably sharper than a standard 1080p camera, provided your recorder can handle it. Rather than relying only on infrared, it uses Hikvision's white-light ColorVu technology alongside IR, giving up to 40 m of white light range and 40 m of IR range, with Smart-Hybrid Light switching between the two so night footage keeps colour detail instead of turning to grainy black-and-white.
Audio and deterrence
A built-in mic and speaker support real-time two-way audio, and audio can travel over the coaxial cable to a compatible DVR — so you get sound without running a separate audio cable. An active strobe light and audio alarm can be triggered for on-site deterrence, useful at entrances or perimeters where a visible warning matters.
Fitting and compatibility
The lens is fixed at 2.8 mm, so field of view is set once at install with nothing to adjust later. It supports HD-TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS outputs, so it works with most existing analogue DVR platforms, and the IP67 housing is rated for outdoor use in wet or dusty conditions. Note: audio-over-coax and 3K resolution need a DVR that supports both — check your recorder's spec before buying.
