Product Description
The Hikvision DS-2CE12KF3T-PIRXO is a 3K bullet camera that films in full colour day and night, not just black-and-white after dark, thanks to its ColorVu sensor.
What it actually does
It records at 2960 × 1665 resolution (3K) through a 2.8mm fixed lens — a wide-angle view suited to entrances, driveways and yards rather than long-distance zoom. At night, its white light carries up to 40 metres, keeping colour footage usable rather than switching to grainy infrared.
Strong backlight — a bright sky behind a visitor, for example — is handled by 130dB true WDR (wide dynamic range, balancing bright and dark areas in one frame), while 3D DNR (digital noise reduction) keeps footage clean rather than speckled, particularly useful in low light.
Built-in deterrence
A PIR sensor (passive infrared, the same heat-detection tech used in alarm sensors) spots human body heat specifically, which cuts down false triggers from moving branches or car headlights. When it fires, the camera can flash a strobe light and sound an audio alarm through its built-in speaker — an active warning rather than silent recording.
Housing
It carries an IP67 rating, meaning it's protected against dust ingress and against water immersion, so it's rated for outdoor mounting.
Before buying, check it against your existing Hikvision recorder or NVR for compatibility, and confirm your storage can handle continuous 3K colour footage, which uses more space than standard HD.

Does this camera record in colour at night?
Yes — its ColorVu sensor and white light (up to 40m) keep footage in colour rather than switching to black-and-white infrared.
What triggers the siren and strobe?
A built-in PIR sensor detects human body heat, then activates the strobe light and audio alarm through the built-in speaker to warn intruders off.
Is it suitable for outdoor mounting?
Yes, it carries an IP67 rating, meaning it's protected against dust ingress and against water immersion.
What resolution and lens does it use?
It records at 3K (2960 × 1665) through a fixed 2.8mm lens, giving a wide field of view rather than zoom.
