Hikvision iDS-7208HQHI-M1/XT — 8-channel hybrid DVR
This is an 8-channel, 1U hybrid DVR for sites running analogue cameras that may need IP cameras added later. It accepts five signal types adaptively — HDTVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS and IP — so existing analogue cabling can be reused. Up to 12 network cameras can also be connected via the hybrid IP capability, giving scope to extend a system without swapping the recorder.
Recording and detection
- H.265 Pro+ compression reduces storage and bandwidth use compared with older codecs — worth factoring into HDD sizing.
- Encoding up to 3K/5MP Lite at 12fps balances image detail against drive space used.
- AcuSense (Hikvision's deep-learning motion analytics) tells people and vehicles apart from other movement, cutting false alerts triggered by wind, animals or headlights.
