Product Description
A 20m RG59 shotgun lead is a ready-made cable that carries both the picture and the power a CCTV camera needs, in one pull, with the plugs already fitted.
What it does
It joins a single camera to your DVR or NVR using 75Ω RG59 coax for video and a parallel 2-core DC power cable bonded together (shotgun style), so you're pulling one cable instead of two.
Connections
- Video: BNC male plugs at both ends — push straight onto the camera's BNC output and the recorder's BNC input, no crimping needed.
- Power: red/black DC pair, ending in a 2.1mm DC barrel plug at the camera end and a socket or bare tails at the recorder end, for wiring to a shared 12VDC power supply.
- Jacket: black PVC outer with moulded strain relief at the connectors, where handling stress is highest.
Format compatibility
The coax carries analogue CVBS, HD-TVI, AHD and CVI signals — worth checking that your camera and recorder use one of these before ordering, since the cable itself doesn't convert between formats.
Where it's used
Suited to medium-distance runs in a house or small commercial site — connecting bullet, dome or turret cameras back to a DVR, or extending from a junction box where power is centralised. If a run flickers or drops out at night, it's often a power issue (long runs and IR draw can cause voltage drop) rather than the cable itself — check the PSU rating first.

Frequently Asked Questions
What video formats will this cable carry?
It carries analogue CVBS as well as HD-TVI, AHD and CVI signals over the RG59 coax — check your camera and recorder use one of these formats.
Do I need to fit any connectors myself?
No — the BNC video plugs and the 2.1mm DC power plug are already fitted at the factory, so it's plug-and-play at both ends.
What power connector is at the recorder end?
The recorder end terminates in either a matching DC socket or bare tails, for wiring into a centralised 12VDC power supply.
