The Hikvision DS-2CD1327G2-LUF is a 2MP turret camera that stays in full colour after dark instead of switching to black-and-white infrared, thanks to Hikvision's ColorVu technology.
Where it works well
The fixed 2.8mm lens gives a 106° horizontal field of view — wide enough for entrances, walkways, driveways or general perimeter coverage. Because the lens is fixed rather than zoom, it's worth pacing out the distance to your target area before ordering, as you can't adjust the focal length once fitted.
Why colour at night matters
An F1.0 aperture lens lets in far more light than a typical camera lens, which is what allows the 1/2.8" CMOS sensor to keep producing colour images in low light rather than dropping to grainy monochrome. Built-in white light extends usable colour imaging to 30 metres in darkness.
