This kit sends an HDMI signal down CAT5e or CAT6 network cable instead of a standard HDMI lead. It's a transmitter and receiver pair, each with an RJ45 port — connect them with a network cable and the receiver outputs HDMI again at the far end.
Why bother? HDMI cable runs get expensive and awkward past a few metres. If you've already got structured cabling, or you're running a DVR/NVR back to a monitor in a rack or another room, network cable is cheaper and easier to route than long HDMI.
