RG59 remains the standard for analogue and HD-over-coax (TVI/CVI/AHD) camera runs. Copper-core, copper-braid cable holds signal furthest; copper-clad steel is cheaper but drops HD signal noticeably past medium runs. Shotgun cable pairs the coax with a power core so one pull serves the camera.
For long runs at high resolution, check your DVR and camera spec for the supported distance at your format — and where a run is marginal, a quality cable and clean crimp matter more than any in-line amplifier.
