Product Description
The PROLUX PXN-2108HS-8P-4K 8-Channel NVR with 8PoE records from up to 8 IP cameras and powers them directly through its own built-in PoE ports, so a separate switch or injectors aren't needed.
What it actually does
It decodes H.265/H.264 footage at up to 80Mbps incoming. Preview and playback go up to 8MP, but simultaneous decoding tops out at 1 channel at 8MP or 4 channels at 1080p, both at 30fps.
Recording and detection
Recording runs at 16Kbps–20Mbps per channel, in manual, scheduled or motion-detection mode, with pre-record (1–30 sec) and post-record (10–300 sec) buffering. Motion detection covers 396 zones plus tampering detection, and can trigger recording, PTZ, tour, snapshot and video push actions.
Storage and output
- Storage: one SATA III port, up to 6TB on a single drive.
- Display: 1 HDMI (up to 3840×2160) and 1 VGA output, running simultaneously.
- Network: one 10/100Mbps RJ-45 port, ONVIF 2.4, SDK and CGI, plus third-party support for Arecont Vision, AXIS, Bosch, Brickcom, Canon, CP Plus, Dynacolor, Honeywell, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony and Videotec, along with Dahua IP search and Easy4ip.
- PoE: 8 ports on IEEE802.3at/af, up to 25.5W per port, 80W shared total.
- Power: single DC48V/1.25A supply.
- USB: 2 ports (1 front, 1 rear, both USB2.0).
What it doesn't have
No alarm input, no relay output, no RS232/RS485 serial ports and no eSATA — worth checking if your setup needs external alarm integration.
Build and ratings
The 1U case (260×224.9×47.6mm) weighs 0.8kg net, 1.6kg gross, without a hard drive. It's rated for -10°C to +55°C operation and -20°C to +70°C storage (0–90% RH), and carries CE (EN55032, EN55024, EN50130-4, EN60950-1), FCC Part 15B and UL60950-1 certification.
Search recordings by time/date, motion detection or exact-second search, with backup via USB or network. It supports two-way talk (1 input, 1 output, RCA) and app access from iPhone, iPad or Android.
