Product Description
The PROLUX PXD-5108HS-4K/X1 is an 8-channel Penta-brid DVR: it accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS (analogue) and IP camera inputs on the same recorder, so you're not locked into one camera format.
What it actually records
Each of the 8 analogue channels supports resolutions up to 4K on HDCVI, or 5MP on AHD/TVI, with CVBS for older PAL/NTSC analogue cameras. There's also an 8+4 channel IP input, each IP channel taking up to 8MP — useful if you want to mix a few IP cameras into an otherwise analogue setup.
Storage and compression
It uses H.265+/H.265 dual-stream compression, which keeps file sizes down compared with older H.264 recorders — meaning more recording days on the same hard drive size. Note: the DVR draws under 10W without a hard drive fitted, and one isn't included in the spec sheet, so you'll need to add your own.
Display and control
Output is via 1 HDMI and 1 VGA, with HDMI resolution up to 3840×2160 (4K). Multiscreen layouts run 1/4/8/9-way normally, extending to 16-way once IP extension mode is switched on. Audio is supported via one RCA input and output, doubling as two-way talk.
Who it suits
With eight channels and support for almost every common analogue and IP camera format, this DVR suits anyone upgrading a mixed camera system, or building out an 8-camera setup, without needing to replace existing analogue cameras.
