Product Description
A DC pigtail like this bridges the gap between a PSU (power supply unit) and a camera's power lead, or feeds power into a junction box, without you having to fabricate a whole new cable.
One end is a standard 5.5mm OD x 2.1mm ID male barrel plug, which mates with the female DC jacks fitted to analogue HD-TVI, AHD and CVI cameras. The other end is pre-stripped red and black wire, ready for screw terminals, crimps or Wago connectors — no soldering needed.
Key specs
- Connector: 5.5x2.1mm male barrel plug (one end only; the other end is stripped wire)
- Wire: 18AWG pure copper, red positive / black negative, colour-coded so you can't get polarity wrong
- Rating: 2-5A at 12-24VDC, enough for a single camera or a small parallel run
- Length: 30cm — suited to junction box-to-PSU wiring or short rack power distribution runs
- Insulation: flame-retardant PVC over pure copper, keeping voltage drop low on moderate extensions
Where it's used
It works with Hikvision and Dahua hybrid setups running siamese cable or rack-mount DC supplies. If you're extending power to an IR-heavy camera over a longer run, check your total cable length and the PSU's rated current — voltage drop on underrated wiring is a common cause of night-time flicker or dropout.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which end is the male barrel plug on?
Only one end has the male 5.5x2.1mm barrel plug; the other end is pre-stripped red/black wire for screw terminals, crimps or Wago connectors.
What current and voltage can this pigtail handle?
It's rated for 2-5A at 12-24VDC, which covers powering a single camera or a small parallel feed.
Is this compatible with my Hikvision or Dahua camera?
Yes, the 5.5x2.1mm male plug mates with the female DC jacks used on analogue HD-TVI, AHD and CVI cameras, including Hikvision/Dahua hybrid setups.
Why might my camera flicker at night after extending the power cable?
Voltage drop over long or underrated wiring is a common cause of IR-related flicker or dropout, so check your PSU rating and total cable length before extending.
