Product Description
Can't run a network cable to the far end of the building? A powerline adaptor sends the network signal through the mains wiring you already have, so an ordinary wall socket stands in for the cable run.
The Comtrend PowerGrid 9020 200Mbps Powerline Ethernet Adaptor is one end of that link, and you need two adaptors to make a working connection.
What you're getting
- Up to 200 Mbps physical data rate. That is the raw line speed, not what a speed test will show. Comtrend pitches it at standard-definition or HD video streaming.
- One 10/100 Ethernet (RJ-45) port per unit. The cable side of the link runs at up to 100 Mbps.
- About 3.4 W when active, 0.84 W on standby.
- Black, plug-and-play, BS1363-compatible UK wall plug.
- Condition: tested and working, with minor scuffs or scratches.
Setting it up
- Plug one adaptor into a socket near your router and join them with an Ethernet cable. This end acts as the Access Point.
- Plug the second adaptor into a socket near the device, such as a TV box or PC, and connect that with Ethernet too.
Before you buy
Check that the device at the far end has an RJ-45 Ethernet socket. Treat 200 Mbps as a ceiling: results can vary with the wiring in your property.
