The Waveshare PoE HAT for Raspberry Pi 5 (product code 27670, listed as PoE HAT (G)) lets a Pi 5 take its power from the same Ethernet cable that carries its network connection. A HAT is simply an add-on board that sits on the Pi's GPIO header, the row of pins along one edge.
What it needs from your network
- A PoE switch, or a PoE injector (a small box that adds power to a single cable) if your switch has no PoE.
