Hikvision DS-KD-ACW2 Surface Mount Frame 2 Module Intercom Housing

The DS-KD-ACW2 is a surface-mount frame for building Hikvision KD8-series modular intercoms where you can't cut into the wall. If the wall is solid masonry, or it's a retrofit job, flush mounting means chasing out a recess — this frame skips that by fixing straight onto the wall face instead.

What it does

It holds two modular intercom units, so you choose which modules go in each of the two bays. Typical combinations: a camera module plus a keypad, or a camera with an RFID card reader or an information display. The frame itself is just the housing — the modules are bought separately and must be from the Hikvision KD8 series, as that's what this frame is built to fit.

Build and installation

Aluminium alloy construction gives it corrosion resistance, so it holds up in outdoor entrance locations as well as indoors. Inside, there's enough room for cable routing and termination — worth checking your cable slack before fitting, since a cramped back box makes clean termination harder.

Where it's used

Suited to residential entrances, apartment blocks, offices and commercial access points — anywhere a KD8 modular intercom is going on the surface of a wall rather than into it.
