Product Description
DS-2CE72HFT-F-3.6MM is a 5 MP HD-analogue turret camera that films in full colour at night, not the usual black-and-white infrared. Hikvision calls this ColorVu: instead of switching to IR mono-vision in the dark, the camera uses a built-in warm white light to keep colour images 24/7.
Where this fits
Good for front doors, driveways and shop entrances where you need to describe someone's clothing or a car colour from footage — details plain IR footage loses. Fixed 3.6 mm lens gives an 80.1° field of view, so it suits a fairly wide, moderate-distance area rather than a long narrow corridor.

Before you buy
Check your recorder supports one of TVI/AHD/CVI/CVBS and has a spare channel. Because this is an analogue-style camera, it records to a DVR rather than an NVR — confirm which one you already have.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this camera record in colour at night?
Yes. It uses a built-in warm white light rather than infrared, so it keeps recording full colour images even in low light, down to 0 Lux with the light engaged.
What's the difference between the 3.6 mm and 6 mm lens options?
The 3.6 mm lens gives an 80.1° field of view, wider and better for covering a broad area at moderate distance. The 6 mm option narrows this to 49.3°, suited to watching a specific spot further away.
Will this work with my existing recorder?
It supports switchable TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS output, so it should work with most HD-analogue DVRs. Check which standard your DVR uses before buying.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, the housing is rated IP67, which covers protection against dust and water ingress for outdoor installation.
