Product Description
Check what you're fixing into before you pick a screw. The Timbermate Wood Screw 5.0x50mm Multi-Purpose (SKU TIMBERMATE-SCREW-WOOD-5.0X50MM) is a single thread woodscrew for various types of timber and man-made boards. It can also go into masonry, as long as the hole has a plastic plug in it.
Size and thread
This one is 5.0mm x 50mm. Anything in the range at 75mm or shorter is threaded along its whole shank, so the thread runs the full length. Once you reach 80mm or longer, the threaded section is 70mm instead. That matters if you're planning to mix lengths from the same range.
What the build does for you
- 40° deep single thread: a secure fixing with high pull-out resistance.
- 25° sharp point, single lead: starts quickly and the thread takes hold more readily.
- Double countersunk head: countersinking means cutting a recess so the head sits level with the surface. This head lowers the likelihood of head shear (the head snapping off) and helps you finish the countersink.
- Wax lubricated: quicker insertion, extra driving torque and resistance to corrosion.
Brand: Timbermate. The SKU and MPN are both TIMBERMATE-SCREW-WOOD-5.0X50MM.
