Product Description
A Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 doesn't have a full-size HDMI socket. Its video outputs are micro-HDMI, a smaller connector, so an ordinary HDMI lead won't plug in. The Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable for Raspberry Pi (RASPBERRY-PI-MICRO-HDMI-TO-HDMI-1M-WHITE) is one lead that fixes that: micro-HDMI at the Pi, standard HDMI at the screen.
Check these before ordering
- Board: Raspberry Pi 4 or 5.
- Screen: a monitor or TV with a normal, full-size HDMI input. This is a straight HDMI-to-HDMI lead, so the display needs that socket.
- Length: 1 metre. It can't be extended or shortened, so measure the actual route from the Pi to the screen, not just the straight-line gap.
- Colour and brand: white, Raspberry Pi.
What the connector names mean
Micro-HDMI is also called type D. The standard full-size plug is type A. Both ends of this cable are male, meaning plugs rather than sockets, so it goes between the Pi's output and the display's input with nothing else needed.
If your Pi will sit right behind or beside its screen, a metre is usually ample. If the two are going to be across a room, think about the layout first.
