Product Description
The N52 Neodymium Disc Magnets 20mm x 4mm (SKU MAGNET-DISC-20MMX4MM) are round rare earth magnets, 20mm in diameter and 4mm deep, in N52 grade and intended for industrial and precision applications. The grade is a rating of magnetic strength, and neodymium is the family of permanent magnets known for being far stronger than ordinary ferrite types.
Check these before ordering
- Something for it to grip. A magnet only holds against steel or iron, or against another magnet. Aluminium, plastic and brick won't hold it.
- A flat, clean face to meet. The grip comes through the flat 20mm face, so a flat steel surface suits it better than a curved or rough one.
- A way to mount the disc itself. Decide whether it will sit in a pocket cut for it or be bonded with an adhesive that suits the materials involved.
- Where it will be kept. Store the magnets away from bank cards, pacemakers and any hard drive, including one inside a recorder.
Handling
Neodymium is brittle. If two discs snap together they can chip, and your skin can get pinched between them. Slide discs apart sideways instead of pulling them straight off each other, and keep them separated while you work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size are these disc magnets?
Each disc is 20mm in diameter and 4mm deep.
What does N52 mean?
N52 is the neodymium grade of these rare earth magnets, a rating of magnetic strength.
Can they be handled safely?
Yes, with care. Two discs that jump together may chip or trap a finger, so keep them well clear of pacemakers and bank cards.
What will they stick to?
Steel or iron surfaces, or another magnet. They won't hold against non-magnetic materials such as aluminium or plastic.
