Things worth checking before you buy

• Total load matters, not just per-camera draw. 5A is the combined output across all eight ways — add up the current draw of every camera or strip you intend to connect and keep it under that ceiling, especially if any cameras have IR LEDs that pull more power at night.
• Cable run length affects voltage at the far end. Long or thin cable runs cause voltage drop, which is a common cause of flickering or dropped night-vision image — keep runs reasonably short or use thicker cable on longer pulls.
• Confirm each camera or strip uses a standard 12V DC connection compatible with the splitter's output leads.
