CAT6A cable for CCTV and network runs
CAT6A supports Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet, which matters if you're running multi-camera PoE (Power over Ethernet, power and data on one cable) systems back to an NVR. This range covers four CAT6A options, split mainly by where the cable will live: indoors, in ducting, or buried outdoors.
How to choose
- Outdoor or buried runs — the UKvision Shielded CAT6A Outdoor cable is a copper FTP reel rated for direct burial use; the Cat6A F/FTD Duct Grade cable and the Connectix TruLAN Cat6A F/FTP cable are built for outdoor and duct installation with PE (polyethylene) jacketing for weather resistance.
- Indoor runs — the TruHD Cat6A U/FTP cable uses LSFH (low smoke, fume and halogen) sheathing, suited to indoor containment where cable smoke performance matters, and the 305m Grey solid core cable is a standard indoor LAN reel.
- Shielding — FTP and F/FTP variants add foil screening against electrical interference, generally useful near power cabling or in commercial installs; check your run against interference sources before choosing.
- Reel length — confirm the reel length matches your run so you don't join lengths unnecessarily, as joins can affect signal quality on longer PoE runs.
