The Netgenium AUG3201-IP is a two-way bridge between analogue audio kit and IP audio networks — it turns analogue signals into IP streams, and turns IP streams back into analogue output.
What it actually does
Feed it audio from an analogue source — a microphone, an NVR's audio output, or similar — and it converts that into a digital stream that can travel across your IP LAN to a network of IP PoE speakers. That's how you get announcements, alerts or monitoring audio out to several locations in a building from one source.
It also works the other way round. Audio coming from IP applications — a scheduled announcement system, a pre-recorded broadcast, or a public address system — can be output through the gateway to a conventional amplifier or 8 Ohm speakers, so you're not forced to rip out existing analogue sound equipment to go IP.
