Product Description
The DS-3WR3X-1 gives a Hikvision DVR or NVR WiFi connectivity where you can't run a network cable to the recorder. It plugs into a USB 2.0 port and needs no driver install on supported Hikvision recorders.
It runs on WiFi 6 (802.11ax), staying backward-compatible with 802.11b/g/n, on the 2.4GHz band only — no 5GHz option here. 2.4GHz generally copes better with walls and distance than 5GHz, which suits recorders tucked away in a cupboard or rack.
What it's for — and what it isn't
The link to the recorder is rated up to 20 Mbps. That's fine for remote viewing, firmware updates and event notifications, but it is not meant for continuous multi-channel live streaming — plan cabled network access if that's your use case. It's also strictly a recorder accessory: it does not provide wireless connectivity for IP cameras themselves.
Two working modes
- Station mode — connects the recorder to your existing WiFi network as a client.
- Soft AP mode — lets you connect directly to the recorder for local setup.
Before you buy
Compatibility is limited to specific Hikvision DVR/NVR models, usually on newer firmware — check your recorder's model and firmware against Hikvision's supported list before ordering. Security is handled via WPA/WPA2. The internal-antenna nano body (21×15×7.7mm) keeps the footprint small inside an enclosure or rack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this let my IP cameras connect wirelessly?
No — the DS-3WR3X-1 only gives the DVR/NVR itself a WiFi link; it doesn't provide wireless transmission for IP cameras.
Can I use it for live viewing on all channels at once?
It's better suited to remote access, updates and event transmission — the 20 Mbps recorder link isn't intended for continuous multi-channel streaming.
Does it work with any Hikvision recorder?
No — compatibility is limited to supported Hikvision DVR/NVR models, typically newer firmware platforms, so check your exact model before ordering.
Does it need drivers installed?
No — it's USB 2.0 plug-and-play and driver-free when used with a supported Hikvision recorder.
