Product Description
The Hikvision DS-7616NXI-K2/16P(D) is a 16-channel PoE recorder that both powers and records your IP cameras from one box, so you don't need a separate PoE switch for a standard install.
What it actually does
Each of the 16 built-in PoE ports feeds a camera power and data over one Ethernet cable. Plug a compatible IP camera in and it's connected — no extra injectors or switch to buy or configure.
What to check before buying
- Camera resolution vs channel count: decoding tops out at 2 channels @12MP, 4 @8MP, 8 @4MP, or all 16 @1080p — so if you want 16 cameras running, they'll be capped at 1080p each.
- Bandwidth: up to 160 Mbps incoming, which is what supports all 16 channels recording together without dropped frames.
- Storage: two SATA bays, each taking a drive up to 16TB, so 32TB local storage maximum. NAS or iSCSI can extend that further if you're recording high resolution on many channels for long retention periods.
- Monitor output: HDMI (up to 4K) and VGA, with independent output mode if you want different views on two screens.
Smart features
AcuSense with Motion Detection 2.0 runs on every channel, adding human/vehicle recognition, facial recognition and perimeter protection — this cuts down false alerts from wind, animals or passing headlights, and speeds up finding footage with smart search.
Runs on Gigabit LAN, supports ONVIF for third-party camera compatibility, and works with Hik-Connect for remote viewing.
