Connectix Cat5e External UTP Solid Core Network Cable Black 305M

This is the outdoor-rated version of Cat5e cable — use it whenever a run leaves the building, and stick to standard internal Cat5e indoors instead.

Where it's for

Connectix's external Cat5e is a solid core UTP cable (single solid conductors per pair, not stranded), which gives more stable data transmission over long, fixed runs than stranded cable. That makes it a good match for building-to-building network links and for feeding IP CCTV cameras mounted outside, where the run has to cross open ground, ducting or a wall face rather than staying inside a rack or a room.

Where you can install it

• Underground ducts — protected route between buildings
• Catenary wires — suspended runs across gaps or yards
• External wall runs — surface-fixed along a building exterior

The LDPE outer sheath is built to resist moisture and the general knocks of an outdoor route, and the black jacket is intended for outdoor environments rather than indoor patching.

Spec and compatibility

It's manufactured to meet and exceed TIA Enhanced Category 5e specifications across all four twisted pairs, and it's compatible with Cat5e patch panels and modules — including Connectix's own Enhanced Category 5 range — so you can terminate it into an existing Cat5e system without mixing categories mid-run.

Supplied on a 305m drum, which suits multi-run installs or several external camera drops from one reel.
