The Texecom FCA-0087 backplate is a mounting component designed for the Texecom Premier Odyssey 1E External Sounder. It forms the rear housing section of the external alarm sounder unit and provides the mounting interface between the sounder and the installation surface.
The backplate is manufactured from durable polycarbonate material, providing weather resistance and structural strength for outdoor installations. It includes fixing points for wall mounting as well as integrated tamper switch mounting positions, allowing the alarm system to detect if the sounder unit is removed from the wall.
When used with the Odyssey 1E sounder assembly, the device forms part of a Grade 2 intruder alarm signalling system designed for residential and light commercial security installations. The full sounder unit typically produces an audible alarm around 109 dB and includes tamper protection and LED visual indicators.
This replacement backplate is commonly used when repairing or refurbishing existing Texecom external sounders where the rear mounting plate has been damaged or lost. It allows installers to reuse the existing front cover and electronics module while restoring proper wall mounting and tamper protection.
