Product Description
Three things decide whether a cordless grinder suits you: the battery system, the disc size and what actually comes in the box. The Makita DGA452Z 115mm Angle Grinder 18V LXT Bare is clear on all three.
Power
It runs on the 18V LXT Li-ion platform, so it works with Makita LXT batteries. It is supplied body only: the box holds the grinder, side handle, wheel guard and lock nut with wrench. Battery, charger and carry case are not included.
Discs and fixings
- Disc diameter: 115mm (4½")
- Spindle thread: M14 (the threaded shaft the disc locks onto)
- Bore size: 22.23 mm (the hole through the disc centre)
Standard 115 mm accessories and wire brushes suit it. For tile or masonry cutting, use discs made for that material.
In the hand
No-load speed is up to 10,000–11,000 rpm, meaning the disc speed before it touches the work. The tool is about 317 mm long and weighs approx. 1.9–2.3 kg, with a soft-grip housing for control.
- Electronic current limiter protects the motor from overload.
- Anti-restart stops the grinder starting on its own when a battery is clicked in.
- Slide switch with lock-on allows continuous running.
Typical work includes metal cutting, weld grinding, surface preparation, and light fabrication or installation jobs.
