The Huawei E3372-325 is a plug-and-play USB dongle that gives a laptop, PC or compatible router mobile internet access via a 4G SIM card. For CCTV buyers it's most useful as a backup or temporary internet connection for an NVR or router — for example while waiting for a fixed-line install, or as a fallback if broadband drops out.
What it actually does
It's an unlocked LTE Cat4 modem, meaning it isn't tied to one network — pop in a SIM from most mobile operators and it should connect. It talks to 4G LTE, 3G UMTS and 2G GSM networks, so it will fall back to an older signal type if 4G isn't available in that spot.
Speed and coverage
Download speeds are quoted up to 150 Mbps and upload up to 50 Mbps, but this depends entirely on your network coverage and signal strength — don't expect the maximum figure in a rural or fringe-signal location. It supports the 800, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz LTE bands used by most European and UK operators.
