Product Description
The 1½" Comer Economy PVC Ball Valve, EPDM Seals is a shut-off valve for 1½" PVC pipework. Turn the blue handle and the flow through the line stops or starts. It is listed for industrial applications.
What the description means in plain terms
- Ball valve: a ball with a hole through it sits inside the body. Turned one way, the hole lines up with the pipe and liquid passes. Turned the other, the ball blocks it.
- Double union: there is a union (a screw-together coupling) on each side of the body. Undo both and the valve body comes out of the line, so a worn valve can be swapped without cutting the pipe.
- EPDM O-rings: EPDM is a synthetic rubber. The O-rings are the rubber rings that seal the valve.
- Socket ends: the pipe goes into a socket on each side.
- PVC body: this is a plastic valve from the Economy range, with a blue handle.
Before you buy
- Check that your pipe is 1½" PVC. The valve is made to match that size.
- Decide where it will sit. Leave enough room around both unions to reach them, or the double union design loses its advantage.
- Make sure you have two lengths of 1½" PVC pipe ready for the sockets.
