Shelf Bracket Q09

A shelf is an unglamorous part of a CCTV setup, but it decides whether a recorder, power supply or box of spare cable sits tidily on a wall or gets in the way on the floor. Shelf bracket SHELF-BRK-Q09 for CCTV rooms and stores is a wall-fixing bracket, reference Q09, made to support shelving in workshops, stores and equipment rooms.

Where it makes sense

• Equipment rooms: a fixed shelf gives your kit a set place, away from foot traffic.
• Workshops and stores: the same bracket carries ordinary shelving for tools, boxes and stock.

It is a shelving support, so it is not the part to choose if you need to mount a camera itself.

Worth checking before you order

1. What the shelf will carry. Think about the combined weight of everything you plan to put on it, then decide how many brackets the run needs.
2. Your wall. Brick, block and plasterboard all call for different plugs and screws, so pick fixings to suit the surface.
3. The shelf board. Measure its length and depth first, so the brackets sit where they will support it properly.
4. Quantity. A shelf of any length usually rests on more than one bracket, so count along the run.

Mark your positions with a spirit level (a short bar with a bubble vial that shows when a line is truly horizontal) before drilling, and the finished shelf will sit flat.
