Check the label size against the job before you buy. The Q-Connect A4 Multipurpose Labels 199.6x143.5mm (reference KF26056) have just two labels per A4 sheet, and each label measures 199.6 x 143.5mm. That is roughly 20cm by 14cm, a lot bigger than the small tags people usually stick on cables or equipment.

Is this the right size?

• Good fit: anything that needs a big print area, such as a large notice, a document-sized sticker or a full block of text.
• Poor fit: small identification tags. For those you'd want a sheet that carries many labels per page, not two.

Printing them

These are made for laser and inkjet printers. Laser printers fuse toner onto the page with heat, while inkjets spray liquid ink. Either type will do, provided it takes A4 paper (210 x 297mm).

1. Set your document or template to the label size above.
2. Place two label positions on each page.
3. Print a plain-paper test first, so you can see how the layout lines up before you use a sheet.
